Did you know that we constantly remodel both the Zoo and the Safari Park? Not all at once, of course! There is usually a section and/or several smaller projects at a time—we’re always working on something! Our team includes architects and construction and maintenance workers.
We interpret the Zoo and Safari Park's collections for guests of all ages in various program formats, and present and care for the animals assigned. We present educational and entertaining narrative on the Zoo and Park and its animal exhibits.

Jane Kennedy has worked at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park for 26 years. She is a lead keeper at the Safari Park, and she is also a board member (vice-president) of the International Rhino Keeper Association.
Athena likes many types of birds, but currently her favorites are flamingos, hornbills, barbets, and laughing thrushes. But almost all of them keep her laughing.
