Koalas are some of our very favorite animals, but did you know that Australia is home to many other really cool critters? There are marvelous mammals, like kangaroos, wombats, and dingoes; and unusual mammals like the echidna and platypus, which lay eggs!
The skies and trees of Australia are full of amazing native birds like kookaburras, cockatoos, and rainbow lorikeets. But you may be surprised to learn that there are plenty of feathered friends in Australia that don't fly! Cassowaries and emus are just two of the Aussie birds that keep their feet on the ground.
Are you really into reptiles? The Land Down Under is home to frilled lizards, blue-tongued skinks, saltwater crocodiles, and lots of other cool, crawly creatures.
You can come see many Australian animals at the Zoo's newest exhibit, the Conrad Prebys Australian Outback. Check it out here.
