Take a peek at what the elephants are up to at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park. If you tune in during the early morning, you’ll probably get to see the keepers getting the yard ready.
Each day, the animalAny living thing that is not a plant. Most animals can move about freely. All use plants or other animals as food. All have sensory organs. care staff uses rakes, shovels, bobcats, and carts to clean the huge exhibit. Then, they put out hay, branches of leaves, and other food for the elephants to eat throughout the day.
Sometimes they hide special biscuits under a pile of dirt or hay so the animals can dig for “buried treasure.” When the elephants come out (usually around 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time), the fun begins!
